{CinDaySSBC} Global Akhanda Bhajan 2016 (Nov 12 (Sat) 05:00 AM-08:00 PM - Wednesday, November 9, 2016

“Devotional singing (bhajans) is one of the processes by which you can train the mind to expand into eternal values. Teach the mind to revel in the glory and majesty of God; wean it away from petty horizons of pleasure . . Devotional singing induces in you a desire for experiencing the truth, to glimpse the beauty that is God, to taste the bliss that is the Self. It encourages man to dive into himself and be genuinely his real Self.”

“Akhanda Bhajan is being done not for the sake of one individual, one nation or one community. It is for the welfare of humanity as a whole. When thousands of persons join in singing bhajans, they should be fully absorbed in the devotion and the ecstasy of that experience. The singing should be vibrant and soulful and not mechanical or uninspiring. It should combine bhava (feeling), raga (melody) and tala (rhythm). What delight can be experienced when all sing in chorus, with the same feeling, in the same tune and to the same timing! When there is such unity the Divine can be experienced.”

                                                                                                                                    - Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Loving Sairam!

Global Akhanda Bhajans

Nov 8th (Sat) 2014- 06:00 AM to 06:00 PM

Venue- SSTGC Bhajan Hall, 723 Western Row Rd, Mason, OH 45040

“Akhanda Bhajan is being done not for the sake of one individual, one nation or one community. It is for the welfare of humanity as a whole. When thousands of persons join in singing bhajans, they should be fully absorbed in the devotion and the ecstasy of that experience. The singing should be vibrant and soulful and not mechanical or uninspiring. It should combine bhava (feeling), raga (melody) and tala (rhythm). What delight can be experienced when all sing in chorus, with the same feeling, in the same tune and to the same timing! When there is such unity the Divine can be experienced.”

– Excerpts from Bhagawan’s Divine Discourse on Nov 8th 1986

Sai Inspires

Given the hectic life we lead, how can we find time to pray every day? Swami advises us through the words of a great thinker thus,

A person once told Dr. Johnson, the famous English thinker, that he could seldom get time to recite the Name of God, what with the hundreds of things he had to do from morning till nightfall and even far into the night. Dr. Johnson replied with another question. He asked how millions of people found space to live upon the face of the earth, which is two-thirds water and the rest is too full of mountains, deserts, forests, icy regions, river beds, marshes and similar impossible areas. The questioner said that man somehow struggled to find living space. So too, Dr. Johnson, man must somehow find a few minutes a day for prayer to the Lord. Keep the Name and Form of your choice ever in your consciousness. The Name must be as constant as breathing. And for this, practice is essential.

– Bhagawan Shri Satya Sai Baba – Divine Discourse on Maha Shivarathri, 1955.

Prayer is for the mind, what food is for the body.

Shivarathri is the day when one tries to establish friendship between the mind and God. When you realize Shivoham (I am Shiva), then, you have all the happiness, all the auspiciousness that there is. Shiva is inherent in every thought, word, and deed, for He is the energy, the power, the intelligence that is behind each of them.

Sankranthi Celebrations, Talk by Dr. Hari Conjeevaram Sunday Jan 19 2014 - Tuesday, January 14, 2014

What exactly is Sankranthi and what is its significance? – Click below

http://media.radiosai.org/journals/Vol_02/02Jan15/03_SPIRITUAL_BLOSSOMS/REFLECTIONS/reflections.htm

Sankranthi promotes mental transformation. It illumines the minds of people. It induces the unfoldment of inner feelings. It brings about the manifestation of the invisible Atma within everyone. Sankranthi is pregnant with such immense significance. It influences not only the mind but also the powers of nature. Nature is a projection of the mind. The world is rooted in the mind (Manomoolam idam jagath). When the mind is turned toward the heart and the heart is filled with the Divine, the mind will cease to be a source of trouble. The mind is the master of the senses. When the senses are controlled, the mind is under control. Only the master of the mind can attain Madhava (the Divine, another name for Krishna).

-          Divine Discourse Jan 15, 1996

Christmas-New Year Celebrations - Dec 29th 2013 Sunday 04:30 -06:00 PM - Wednesday, December 25, 2013

Today we celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught that you should seek the Kingdom of Heaven and to enter that Kingdom, you must cultivate loving hearts. Then your hearts would become the Kingdom of Heaven. When Jesus was born in the manger, three kings were led by a star to His place of birth. One of them, seeing the infant Jesus observed: "This Child will be a lover of God." The second said: "No, God will love Him." The third one said: "Verily He is God Himself." The significance of these three statements is - "To love God is to be His Messenger." To be loved by God is to be a son of God and finally, as Jesus Himself said: "I and My Father are one." Be aware that all of you are messengers of God. All of you are Children of God. So be free from selfishness and manifest the qualities of the Divine Father from today.

                                                                                                  - Divine Discourse, Dec 25, 1994.

May the New Year grant you mental peace and may your life's ideal of self-realization be fulfilled. May all comforts and contentment be added unto you. This is My blessing.

- Divine Discourse, Jan 1, 1971

Avatarhood Declaration Day-Oct 20th 2013 - Thursday, October 17, 2013

I have a "Task": To foster all mankind and ensure for all of them lives full of bliss (ananda). I have a "Vow": To lead all who stray away from the straight path again into goodness and save them. I am attached to a "work" that I love: To remove the sufferings of the poor and grant them what they lack. I have a "reason to be proud", for I rescue all who worship and adore me, aright. I have my definition of the "devotion" I expect: Those devoted to me have to treat joy and grief, gain and loss, with equal fortitude. I will not give up my mission, nor my determination. I will never give up those who attach themselves to me.

On this day 73 years ago Baba as a fourteen year old boy declared, "I am Sai Baba". Later in a landmark letter to His elder brother, He clearly delineated His mission. The above is an extract from that letter written in May 25, 1947.

Loving Sairam to All,

Oct 20th is a blessed day for all of us.  It was on this day  in 1940 our beloved Bhagawan revealed the advent of His divine incarnation(Avatar) to the world when He was 14 years old. We will celebrate this auspicious day at our center this Sunday and dedicate all our activities to our Lord and His mission.

Navarathri Celebrations – Satsang with Prof.Veerabhadraiah -Oct 6th (Sunday) 2013 - Monday, September 23, 2013

During the Navarathri (also called Dasara) festival, Tripurasundari (Goddess) is worshipped. The entire cosmos is a temple; the Lord pervades the cosmos. Nature teaches the spiritual truth about Navarathri. The Lord has to be realized through Sadhana (spiritual practice). Sadhana does not mean adoring God in a particular place or form. It means thinking of God in all that you do wherever you may be and that is possible by dedicating every action to God.

The Navarathri festival should be used as an occasion to examine one’s own nature, whether it is human, animal or demonic, and strive to transform the animal nature to the human and divinize the human nature. Wisdom cannot be acquired from outside, it has to be won through inward Sadhana.

-Bhagawan Shri Sathya Sai Baba – Divine Discourse on Vijaya Dasami Day , Oct 6, 1992.

Loving Sairam to All,

This year the Navarathri festival is from Oct 5th thru Oct 13th with Vijaya Dasami, which is its culmination, on Oct 14th 2013.

With the divine blessing of our beloved Bhagawan, our center will be celebrating the Navarathri festival on     Oct  6(Sunday), 2013 and we are immensely blessed to have a Satsang on that day with Prof.Veerabhadraiah Mudigonda from Prashanti Nilayam.

Prof. Veerabhadraiah has been a devotee of Bhagawan since early seventies and has served in various roles in the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithis.  He has also traveled to numerous places in Andhra Pradhesh spreading Bhagawan's message.  In 2007, Swami blessed him with an opportunity to teach Telugu at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher learning in Prasanthinilayam where he continues to teach. He has had the wonderful opportunity to speak and play the Veena in Bhagawan's divine presence on multiple occasions.  He is also a translator and an author of more than sixty books (primarily in Telugu language) on various subjects ranging from Literary criticism to Spirituality.  His recent books include "Atma Sastram",  biographies of Sri Ramana Maharishi and also Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.Description: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/images/cleardot.gif

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations & SSE Opening Day - Sep 08, 2013 (Sunday)-03:30 PM - Friday, September 6, 2013

"Vinayaka is also called Vighneswara (remover of obstacles). No obstacle can come in the way of one who prays to Vinayaka. Worship of Vinayaka confers success in spiritual as well as worldly endeavours. God grants happiness at two levels, pravritti (outward) and nivritti (inward). Pravritti is related to physical body whereas Nivritti relates to the intellect.

On this day of Vinayaka Chaturthi, students place their textbooks in front of the Vinayaka idol and offer their prayers. The inner meaning is that they should pray for the divine wisdom to be bestowed on them. It is most essential for the students to worship Vinayaka on this auspicious day. He fulfils the desires of his devotees. He has no agraha (anger); He confers only anugraha (grace)."

****Swami's Maha Samadhi Day Celebrations Sunday April 21, 2013****** - Thursday, April 11, 2013

Love is My Form,Truth is My Breath,Bliss is My Food,  My Life is My Message, Expansion is My Life,  No Reason for Love, No Season for Love, No Birth No Death...

- Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Lord of the universe, has pure, selfless, and unconditional love and compassion that transcends all limitations. He has spread the joyous experience of love and compassion to all beings. He has shown us how to love and how to live in love. Millions of devotees around the world have experienced His divine presence and pristine love. There are no physical limitations for Baba, and He manifests anywhere according to His will. The Lord who has no birth, no death, no beginning or end and who is beyond name and form assumed an enchanting and beautiful form with the sweet, nectarine name of Sathya Sai Baba to remind us that our true nature is divine. In this process He granted us the divine bliss of His darshan (divine vision), sparshan (divine touch) and sambashan (divine discourse and conversations). Every year on 24th April during the Mahasamadhi day celebrations (Sri Sathya Sai Aradhana Mahotsavam—holy and grand festival of adoration and homage) let us rededicate our lives to love Him with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. Let us practice His universal message of love and sanctify our lives by serving in His Divine mission."
