Sadhana for the week:

"Prajnana is the unchanging and eternal principle that is in you at all times and under all circumstances. People call it supreme knowledge, but the correct translation for this term is Constant-Integrated-Awareness. This Constant-Integrated-Awareness is present all over the body. How it is that man is not able to recognise such all-pervasive divinity, which exists in all the three periods of time, past, present and future?

The life principle that flows through each and every nerve of the body is verily divine. The life principle that sustains our body is Prajnana. On this basis, it is said, Prajnanam Brahma. The same thing is reflected in another divine axiom, Ayam Atma Brahma. It can be interpreted as 'I am Atma and Brahma'. The third one is Tat Twam Asi. Tat denotes that which is outside, and Twam stands for innate divinity. It means that the same divinity is present within and without. That all-pervasive God is present within and without. That which is seen, heard and experienced outside is nothing but the reflection, resound and reaction of the inner being. When reality is within, why crave for its reflection outside?" - BABA,   Divine Discourse 9 October, 2001, Prasanthi Nilayam

Chili recipe:

------------------------------------------------------------------

Spaghetti recipe

Ingredients

v  Spaghetti (dry, 2lbs)

v  Salt (to taste)

v  Diced zuchinni (2)

v  Dice yellow squash (2)

v  Chopped onion (1/2)

v  Colored peppers (1, optional)

v  Prego/Ragu Sauce (2 bottles)

Note: These are some general guidelines for cooking spaghetti. Do check with the instructions on the pasta packet as each of them may require different cooking times

 ·         Add 8 quarts of water, 1-2 tsps of salt and a teaspoon of olive or vegetable oil into a large stock pot

·         Bring the water to boil

·         Add 2lbs of dry spaghetti pasta into the boiling water. Note: Don’t break the pasta; it will soften up within 30 seconds and fit into the pot.

·         Stir the pasta. As the pasta starts to cook, stir it well with the tongs so the noodles don’t stick to each other (or the pot).

·         Test the pasta by tasting it (Follow the cooking time on the package, but always taste pasta before draining to make sure the texture is right. Pasta cooked properly should be al dente—a little chewy.

·         Drain the cooked pasta in a colander and run noodles under cold water to stop the cooking. Leave it with some cold water to prevent it from sticking and set aside

·         Heat quarter cup olive oil

·         Add 2 tsps of cumin seeds and let it crackle

·         Add the vegetables and saute’ them till they are cooked

·         Add cooked spaghetti, the sauce and salt (to taste).

·         Mix well and bring everything to a simmer

·    Turn-off heat and is ready to serve.

Divine Inspirations

In the Geetha Lord Krishna says, “Arjuna! People give up revering and seeking Me, their very own Self. How foolish of them! They are not anxious to reach Me; but pursue lesser attainments that are untrue and transitory. The reason for this strange behaviour is the desire for quick results. People seek only that which is available here and now; that which is in a concrete form and is capable of being grasped by their senses; they are carried away by the attraction of flimsy pleasures. People also do not generally have the needed patience. They attach greater importance to the gross body, (sthula sarira). The achievement of Jnana (wisdom) is the true inner victory; it is won after long and arduous struggle. The few who are spiritually minded yearn for the Divine. Such wise people are indeed blessed. Look upon every act as but the execution of His order and as leading to His grace.”  -  BABA
